Six Decades Of Experience And A New Era Or Libyan Cement Company

Look around any city and it is easy to notice what has been built. Homes, businesses, factories, roads and public infrastructure all become part of everyday life. What is more difficult to ignore are the resources that made those projects possible in the first place. And one of the most important of these has been produced for almost 60 years by the Libyan Cement Company. LCC began its history in 1968. The company has since grown alongside Libya, supplying cement for everything from local housing developments to major construction and infrastructure projects. ㅤ Today, LCC employs over 1,200 staff and runs three production plants with an annual output of more than two million tons of cement. But a company that has been around this long can’t be described just in terms of what it makes. It's also about the people who have kept those plants running. The knowledge and experience behind LCC’s operations have been built over the years by generations of employees. And the company has been improving its facilities and introducing newer technology and improving the way it works while maintaining the quality of the products produced by its plants. Cement made by LCC turns into homes and residential communities. It turns into commercial buildings and industrial facilities. Its roads and bridges and public developments. Every project can be completely different, but they all start with the materials that people need to be able to rely on. ㅤ This responsibility has been with LCC throughout its history. Today, LCC begins a new chapter as part of the Alushibe Holding Group. Almost six decades in the making, the idea is not to abandon that history, not to change what LCC has always been about. It is about adding to what is already there. This means continuing to invest in the people who know the company, upgrading its production facilities and applying modern manufacturing technologies to its operations. The values that support LCC are quality, integrity, innovation, sustainability and respect for people. These values are reflected not just in the cement the company produces but in how it approaches safety, develops its workforce and looks for better ways of working. There is a good reason to keep moving forward. Libya continues to build, new housing, infrastructure and industrial development all depend on a steady supply of construction materials. LCC is continuing to modernize its operations and improve efficiency so that its plants are prepared for what comes next. But at the end of the day, LCC’s purpose remains remarkably familiar. It is about producing the materials that allow people to build and continuing a story that has been part of Libya for nearly 60 years.
